Council questions vouchers for Hive subscription, training and Johnson Pool design work

Sanchez said the Civic Center pays the subscription from its budget.
Vicki Nemechek of Public Works described a $687 charge for a one-year PriorLearning subscription that provides online classes for three transit employees, including Erin Johnson (the transit administrator), Kim Saermgard (transit manager) and operations coordinator Keith Asbill. Nemechek said Johnson and Saermgard have registered for classes and completed some coursework; Asbill had not yet completed classes and is driving regularly while the department is short six part-time drivers.
Council member Moody asked about a payment tied to Contract 7986 for the Johnson Pool evaluation and design project. Jason Sanchez said the 2021 vote authorized $250,000 from taxpayers to fund design work for Johnson Pool; the voucher covers services for the 65% design and construction plans.
Council did not take separate action on the vouchers; members asked staff for clarification in the meeting record.
