The Senate Committee on Administration adopted its proposed committee rules during the meeting after no members objected. Senator Hinojosa moved adoption of the rules; the chair announced, "Hearing none, rules are adopted."
Committee members welcomed new committee members and staff. The chair welcomed Vice Chair Hinojosa and returning members; staff introductions included Dalton Moore, identified as "legislative director of council," and the chair noted the presence of Thomas McGregor, Jay Matherall and Matthew Moses. A committee member said, "I'm gonna have Ryan here. And Gabriela Barajona is here with me."
The chair also stated the proposed committee rules had been shared with members' offices before the hearing and described them as unchanged from the committee's rules in the prior session. No members asked questions about the proposed rules before the voice adoption. After adopting the rules, the committee proceeded to consider legislative business, beginning with SJR 36.
