BRA moves funds to cover DeCordova Bend Dam trifecta engineering work

The Brazos River Authority Board on Jan. 27 approved two budget transfers to keep the DeCordova Bend Dam “trifecta” engineering work on schedule.
Blake Keltner, executive projects portfolio manager, said staff requested a $150,000 transfer to the 01/00 repairs project and a $900,000 transfer to the stop‑log replacement capital project to address timing differences between project delivery and the FY‑25 budget. Keltner said the money will allow ongoing work on buttress and embankment repairs and the stop‑log replacement that are part of a previously approved contract with Walter P. Moore.
The board motion moved $150,000 and $900,000 from the Drought Preparedness capital improvement project to the DeCordova repair and stop‑log budgets, respectively. Directors asked whether the transfers increased the negotiated contract ceiling; staff said they did not — the transfers reallocated budgeted funds between capital projects rather than increasing overall project authorizations.
The resolution passed by roll call with all voting directors recorded as yes.
