Roger Terminos, who uses the professional name Royal Art, said he was born and raised in Peru and "came here 40 years ago" during a short interview at Santa Fe Springs City's 2024 Art Fest.
Terminos described drawing continuously through his childhood and later learning to paint. "All I wanted to do is just draw. And when I learn to paint, to paint," he said.
When asked what sets the Santa Fe Springs Art Fest apart, Terminos said the event "feels more like family" and does not treat artists like a corporate vendor. "It's more they're focused more on art and to treat the artist like, hey, you know, you you belong here," he said.
The comments came during a brief on-camera exchange with a festival host from Santa Fe Springs City. The exchange ran roughly one minute and focused on Terminos's background and his impression of the festival's atmosphere.
Terminos's remarks underline the festival's local cultural role as a place where some participants feel personally connected rather than treated primarily as sales opportunities.
"They know who you are, and they don't treat you like a corporate," he added, summing up his experience at the event.
