Board approves three overnight student trips: Warhawks, FBLA and DECA
Summary

The Germantown School District Board approved three overnight student-travel requests Jan. 27.
GHS Warhawks: The board approved travel for up to 17 students and three coaches to attend a competition in La Crosse from Jan. 31–Feb. 2, 2025. Expenses will be covered by the Germantown School District’s athletics and activities budget along with student fundraising, donations and parent contributions. One board member abstained from this vote, citing a parental relationship; the motion carried.
Kennedy Middle School FBLA: The board approved overnight travel for up to 26 students and three advisers to attend the FBLA state competition in Wisconsin Dells Feb. 23–24, 2025. Expenses will be covered by district activity budgets, fundraising and parent contributions.
GHS DECA: The board approved overnight travel for 20 students and two advisers to attend DECA state competition in Lake Geneva Feb. 24–26, 2025. Student fundraising and parent contributions will cover student expenses; adviser expenses and transportation will be paid from the GHS athletics and activities budget.
All three requests were approved by the board; two passed by unanimous voice vote and the Warhawks trip passed with one abstention.
