Board approves updated five-year capital improvement plan; long-range facility study continues

The Germantown School District Board of Education approved Jan. 27 an updated five-year capital improvement plan recommended by the buildings and grounds committee.
Committee chair reported that the long-range facility plan work by JP Cullen and PRA is on schedule: building assessments, Matterport scans, exterior drone facade inspections and mechanical/electrical/plumbing reviews were completed and meetings with building leaders have occurred. The committee recommended approval of an updated five-year CIP to keep routine maintenance and planned improvements on schedule while the long-range plan is finalized.
Board members said the CIP is intended to prevent deferred maintenance from accumulating and noted district staff will compare the long-range study and the five-year plan to produce a consolidated facility plan later this year.
The board approved the five-year CIP by voice vote with no opposition. The buildings and grounds committee will continue to provide updates as the long-range facility study is finalized.
