At its Feb. 24 meeting the Lebanon Planning Commission voted to forward positive recommendations to city council on several land-use and rezoning requests and approved the city’s pedestrian priorities plan as a recommendation to council.
Items recommended for approval to city council included a future land-use amendment and parallel rezoning request for approximately 1.49 acres on Hartman Drive (requested change from rural preservation/open space to suburban commercial and rezoning from RS-20 to Commercial Service), a rezoning request by Hendrick Contracting for about 1.06 acres at 14954 Central Pike from RS-20 to Commercial General, and a rezoning request by Broad Street Holdings 2 LLC for about 0.54 acres at 902 Carthage Highway from R-2 to Office Professional. Staff reported the requested future land-use designations support the rezoning requests and recommended approval in each case.
The planning commission also considered and voted to recommend approval of the city’s pedestrian priorities plan, forwarding it to city council. The commission was advised expected city council readings will include a first reading and public hearing on March 4 and a second reading on March 18 for the Hartman Drive items.
Each of these are recommendations to city council; final approvals or ordinances will be decided by council at the scheduled readings.
