Victoria City Council voted Tuesday to adopt an ordinance that consolidates and updates miscellaneous fees in Chapter 24 of the Victoria City Code.
City staff presented the ordinance during a public hearing and said most materials are now available electronically; printed copies would be charged at actual print costs when requested. The slate did not include downtown‑related fees, which staff said remain under review.
The council opened and closed the public hearing with no members of the public speaking on the item. A councilmember moved to adopt the ordinance and a second was recorded; the mayor called for a voice vote and declared, "C1 passes." No roll‑call tally was recorded in the public portion of the transcript.
The ordinance consolidates fee changes staff previously presented in November and December and adjusts print fees for documents now primarily provided online. Staff said downtown facility fees that had been proposed earlier are not part of this adoption and remain under review.
No additional discussion or amendments were recorded during the meeting. The council advanced the city’s consolidated fee schedule as the next step in streamlining city records and charging for requested printed copies at cost.
