Davies County commissioners approved an interlocal agreement Jan. 28 to support the town of Oden's West Street/Kenneberg Road widening and intersection project.
County highway staff described the agreement as the county's mechanism to reimburse invoices from the town of Oden for its portion of a state-funded project. Highway staff said the county previously committed up to $750,000 toward the town's match; under the interlocal the county will pay 50 percent of Oden's required 20 percent local match on invoices, up to that previously committed cap.
Highway staff said the town will submit invoices and documentation to the county for review; the county will process payments to the town through the auditor's office. Staff identified town contacts for billing and project oversight and said the town is the project lead. The board voted to approve the interlocal agreement and to begin issuing payments after the town provides invoices and documentation.
Commissioners emphasized the county would not assume day-to-day project management; staff said the county will hold documentation and process payments per the interlocal terms.
