Council schedules interviews to fill unscheduled Community Services Commission vacancy

The City Council voted 5‑0 to schedule interviews and appoint an applicant to fill an unscheduled vacancy on the Community Services Commission (Office No. 3), with the term expiring June 30, 2027.
City Clerk Specialist Lorena Kadova told the council the clerk’s office received a resignation on Dec. 13, 2024, from Mallory Burrell and opened recruitment. At the close of the recruitment the city had five applications — one previously on file and four new candidates — and staff reported that all applicants meet the eligibility requirements of Glendora Municipal Code 2.18.040. Staff presented three options; the council voted to schedule interviews at a special meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2025, and directed staff to include the previously filed application in the interview pool.
Council discussion noted the importance of conducting interviews and, where appropriate, reopening recruitment if additional applicants are desired. The motion to schedule interviews passed unanimously.
