Superintendent outlines bond and levy outreach, construction manager at risk process and district achievements

Dr. Gibbs said the district recently approved the construction manager at risk process and that Colin Rogers, present at the meeting, will join the design team to review updated renderings and plan next steps. "So, we just approved the construction manager at risk process," Dr. Gibbs said, and added that the design team will present updated renderings as the project moves forward.
Dr. Gibbs reviewed a range of district items from the past year and upcoming initiatives. He reported the district published a print magazine that is being mailed to residents, praised extracurricular successes including state‑ranked basketball and a competitive marching band season, and described the Portrait of a Graduate work that identified six competencies after community input.
On health and safety, Dr. Gibbs said the wellness committee is planning a wellness day and that the district has worked with its insurance broker and BJC HealthCare on staff wellness and biometric screenings. He also noted the maintenance team has been addressing HVAC challenges and commended safety teams established across buildings.
Dr. Gibbs said the district will push a stakeholder climate and culture survey soon and expand public information about bond and levy projects, adding that the levy would be used for staff recruitment, retention and maintaining essential programs. Colin Rogers, who the superintendent invited to comment, said he would answer questions and participate in the joint design process.
