Tangipahoa Parish Council passes ordinances on clerk pay, animal rules and backs jail resiliency funding; several routine items approved

At its Jan. 27 meeting the Tangipahoa Parish Council approved Ordinance 2501 (clerk salary), an amendment to Chapter 10 (animals), Resolution 2506 (supporting CDBG resiliency funding for a jail project), adopted routine audit questionnaire and approved a board appointment, all by recorded votes of 10-0.
The Tangipahoa Parish Council met Jan. 27 and approved several routine and regulatory items, including two ordinances, a resolution backing resiliency funding for a jail project, a financial audit questionnaire and a board appointment. All recorded roll-call votes on those items were unanimous 10-0.

During the meeting Council President Miller thanked public works and state DOTD crews for responses to a recent snowstorm and noted there were only minor incidents. The council heard a presentation from the Louisiana CO2 Alliance and invited follow-up with parish legal counsel and state legislators; that presentation did not result in immediate action by the council.
No beer, wine or liquor permits were presented. After the business was completed the council adjourned by unanimous consent.
