Cowlitz County Board of Health unanimously elects Kelly Lane chair, Rick Dahl vice chair

Kelly Lane was elected chair of the Cowlitz County Board of Health by unanimous voice vote at the board’s first meeting of the year. The board then elected Rick Dahl as vice chair, also by unanimous voice vote.
The board opened nominations from the floor and proceeded in the order nominations were received. A board member nominated Lane for chair; after no further nominations the presiding officer called for a voice vote and said the result was unanimous. Lane thanked members for their confidence and said, “Thank you for your confidence and it's very appreciated. I will do my best to serve the public.”
After the leadership elections the board considered minutes from its Nov. 26, 2024 meeting. A motion to approve the minutes passed by voice vote.
The elections followed the board’s annual practice of selecting officers at its first meeting of the year. No other formal business was taken at the time of the votes.
