The St. Joseph School District Board of Education on Jan. 27 approved personnel-related items including revised and new job descriptions for positions under the Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) grant and the creation of a 25-hour-per-week Parents as Teachers administrative assistant position funded by the Parents as Teachers program.
Dr. Krause told the board the four AEL job descriptions (a mix of new and revised positions) reflect actual job duties and carry no additional cost to the district because the roles will be grant-funded under the AEL grant. The board approved the descriptions by vote.
Parents as Teachers: district staff proposed restoring a dedicated part-time administrative assistant for Parents as Teachers to better separate duties from Early Childhood Special Education administrative responsibilities. The position will be funded from the Parents as Teachers allocation (which provides a small administrative allocation and variable program funds). The board approved creating the 25-hour-a-week position and confirmed it will not replace the ECSE administrative assistant who will remain focused on early-childhood special education.
Personnel report amendment: the superintendent noted a change to the personnel report under Roman numeral IV, number 3; an employee originally listed to split time between Carden Park and Hosea will instead work full time at Hosea. The board approved the personnel report as amended.
All motions on personnel items passed by recorded voice vote; no members opposed.
