Commission extends three Planning & Zoning appointments through April 2026

The City Commission approved a resolution extending the terms of three Planning & Zoning Board members through April 30, 2026.
Stacy Heck, director of community development, said the extensions were requested so the board would not have multiple seats expire at once. The three members who agreed to one-year extensions are Donna Long, Anne Polo and Kathy Thomas. The resolution also reaffirmed Jordan Marlow as the commission's ex officio P&Z representative.
Heck said staff will bring the full set of applications back after the April election so the newly seated commission can appoint members for the following terms. "We took a look at it and said, at that juncture in November, let's see. So we don't have them all flipping at the same time," Heck told the commission.
Votes and procedure: The motion to approve the extension (Resolution 2025-5) was moved by Commissioner Maison and seconded by Commissioner Martin. The motion passed unanimously.
Ending: Staff said it will return in April with appointments for the P&Z seats that will be affected by the election cycle.
