GO Bond update: Fire station, East Mesa complex and housing projects progress; some schedule delays

Las Cruces — City public-works and housing staff on Jan. 27 gave a quarterly update on projects funded or continued with the 2022 general-obligation (GO) bond, reporting construction starts, partial completions and scheduling changes.
David Sedillo, public works director, said contractor White Sands Construction began work on Fire Station No. 9 on Oct. 28 and the project is “currently at 10% completion,” with earthwork, sewer rough-ins and electrical rough-ins finished and foundation rebar work upcoming. Sedillo said the estimated completion date for the station is February 2026.
