At the conclusion of the special meeting a board member reported that the Town had offered to sell a burial site at Prospect Community Cemetery to the county for $1,000. The offer, the member said, would include care for five years and would provide space for 25 burials without deeper interment and up to roughly 30 burials if deeper interments are used.
The member said the Town requested a headstone be placed before any burial and that names, dates or other inscriptions be added to that marker. The board member said additional costs for a headstone would be separate and that variations such as burial depth, cremation urns or eco‑friendly options could affect capacity.
The board referred the proposal to county staff ("Ms. Bucket" identified) for discussion and asked staff to bring a recommendation back to the board after review. No formal action or expenditure was taken at the meeting.
