The Cocoa City Council unanimously approved its 2025 legislative priorities on Jan. 28, a package that staff described as unchanged from the prior year and that lists 11 priority areas, including economic and community development and public infrastructure investment.
City Manager Witten asked the council to review and approve the priorities for submission to the legislative delegation. Councilor Mahur made the motion to approve; the motion received a second on the floor and carried by unanimous vote.
Mayor Blake and other members praised staff for capturing the council’s priorities and noted the package will inform lobbying efforts with the state legislature and regional partners.
No substantive amendments to the priorities were proposed during the meeting; staff will forward the approved list to the city’s legislative contacts.
