Sweet Home student ex officio sworn in to the Board of Education

The Sweet Home Central School District Board of Education administered the oath of office to Jevon Coleman on Tuesday, seating him as the student ex officio member.
Board president Mr. Berlanti called the meeting back to open session after executive session and introduced the oath. Jevon Coleman spoke the oath in the meeting record, swearing to support the Constitution of the United States and the constitution of the State of New York and to faithfully discharge the duties of student ex officio.
Board vice president Summer Mac was present and the board offered congratulatory remarks. The board noted that the newly sworn student representative will fulfill ex officio duties while the vice president remains available as an additional student-leadership presence.
No formal vote was required to seat the student ex officio; the oath was administered at the meeting and recorded in the minutes.
