Villafane described encounters with residents and health workers wearing the group's shirts during clinic visits as evidence the campaign is reaching local people.
"Early detection is key," Villafane said during her remarks.
Chairman Donald L. Lovett read a short-form proclamation that recited national breast cancer statistics and encouraged citizens to participate in local awareness activities. The board posed for a brief photograph with campaign volunteers after the proclamation was read.
