Aurora City Council on Monday approved an amendment to the Aurora Places comprehensive plan that changes roughly 340 acres from an “industry hub” place type to “emerging neighborhood.” The ordinance (item 12F) passed 10–0.
Janine Rostad, director of Planning and Business Development, framed the request as a follow‑up to a council resolution adopted Oct. 14, 2024 (Resolution 2024‑128), and said the comp‑plan change remains contingent on a development agreement that staff and the property owner continue to negotiate. “We are in negotiations with the property owner on that development agreement, but have not finalized that yet,” Rostad said, and staff intends to schedule the development agreement back before council when it is complete.
