Peoria County committees adopt resolutions on farmland leases, contracts, zoning changes, grants and software migration

Peoria County committee chairs reported a series of resolutions and zoning decisions during the board’s meeting, including farmland lease awards, professional-services contracts for road improvements, mowing and snow-removal contracts, township motor fuel tax seal-coating awards, delinquent-tax conveyances, zoning actions, grant acceptances, and an information-technology migration. Several items were adopted unanimously; a solar zoning petition passed with two dissenting votes.

Infrastructure committee Chair Member Salzer said the committee adopted five resolutions unanimously. The county accepted a highest bid for county farmland in the Edwards area: a three-year lease covering roughly 20.6 acres to the Shane family at $271 per acre (committee report). The board also authorized a professional-services contract with Hansen Engineering for preliminary improvements from Main Street in Glassford to Route 24; Member Salzer stated the contract amount as $888,880.
