Care and Treatment Board to post RFP Feb. 1; funds near prior-year level

The Peoria County Care and Treatment Board said it funded six agencies at about $1.6 million for FY24–25 and will post its RFP for 2025–26 on Feb. 1; the board expects total funding for awards to be slightly under that prior amount.
Todd Baker, representing the Care and Treatment Board of Peoria County, told the county board that the Care and Treatment Board funded six agencies at about $1.6 million in the 2024–25 year to purchase services for people with developmental disabilities.
He said the RFP for the 2025–26 cycle will post on Feb. 1 and responses will be due by 4:30 p.m.; the board will review grant presentations at its May 21 meeting and expects to vote on awards at that time. Baker said the total budget for awards will be “a little shy” of the $1.6 million figure and that staff have worked to spend down fund balances that have been historically higher than expected.
A county official reminded the board that the care-and-treatment fund has a dedicated tax levy that may only be used for care and treatment and cannot be transferred to other funds.
No formal board action was taken during the informational report; Baker said the board has an open seat and the county chairman is working on that appointment.
