Board appoints supervisors to regional transportation bodies; Manfry to MTC, Alessio to NVTA

NAPA COUNTY — At its Jan. 28 meeting the Board of Supervisors made a set of annual appointments to regional transportation bodies, naming Supervisor Amber Manfry as the county’s member on the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) and Supervisor Liz Alessio as the county member on the Napa Valley Transportation Authority (NVTA).
The city selection committee had nominated three county supervisors for the MTC vacancy; after discussion the full board appointed Manfry to the MTC seat for the remainder of a partial term through Feb. 9, 2027. The board also appointed Alessio to NVTA and designated Supervisors John Ramos and Mary Cottrell as NVTA alternates. Supervisor Lindsey Gallagher agreed to serve as the county’s alternate to the MCE Clean Energy Board of Directors.
Why it matters: MTC is the Bay Area’s regional transportation planning and financing agency; having an experienced and engaged county representative is important as the region considers climate, vehicle‑miles‑traveled reductions and infrastructure investments.
Votes: The ballots were taken by voice vote and passed unanimously. The board asked the appointees to coordinate closely with staff and each other on transportation priorities and to report back on policy outcomes as needed.
