Personnel handbook updates begin; committee seeks further review before council action

The presenter said the funeral-leave section was expanded to reflect modern family structures (step- and half-siblings, domestic partners) and the vacation section clarified proration rules for employees in their first year and accrual accounting that applies after January 1.
The committee agreed to continue revising the handbook in stages. The presenter said once the full document is complete they would seek review from the city attorney and from the League of Wisconsin Municipalities Insurance resources; the committee will not forward partial sections to council for adoption until the review process is complete.
