The Mayville Finance Committee voted to approve purchase of Ventrac equipment for the parks department as a capital improvement item.
Parks staff presented three quotes and recommended the dealer that offered an extra piece of equipment and an $8,000 discount. The presenter said the selected dealer was a long-term vendor for the city’s grounds supplies and that the extra piece is a baseball groomer the department requested. One committee member observed the dealer “stands behind their service and their equipment.”
A motion to approve the recommended quote passed on a roll call vote (Kristen Smith — aye; Kristen Olsen — aye; Kristen Newman — aye). Committee members instructed staff to finalize the purchase and to incorporate the buy into capital borrowing when the bond/borrowing proceeds are available.
Parks staff said the equipment is expected to be paid from the general fund’s capital improvement allocation and that—if approved now—the purchase could be recorded and reimbursed from later borrowing proceeds once financing is completed.
