City manager: senior-center expansion discussed; three firefighters promoted, new HR director hired

City Manager Robin reported at the Jan. 27 City of Aberdeen council meeting that Parks and Recreation and city staff discussed the need and potential path forward for expanding the senior center, noting the program—s growing participation and that funding remains to be identified.
Robin also announced three local firefighters who "passed their next level and will be moving on as firefighters for our department": Joseph Johnson, Brian Baker and Aidan Hoffman. She congratulated the three on their advancement.
Robin said the city has filled the HR director position and will welcome Kristen Kroll, formerly with Agtegra and 3M, to the staff; Kroll is expected to start in about a week. "A lot of experience, and we look forward to having her come to work with us," Robin said. Robin added that with the new HR director in place, some questions being fielded by interim staff can be reassigned.
