The U.N. spokesperson said MINUSCA, the U.N. mission in the Central African Republic, supported the national disarmament, demobilization and reintegration program by providing technical, logistical, security and financial assistance. He said that since July 10, "692 ex combatants have been disarmed and demobilized and more than 500 weapons have been collected."

The spokesperson noted MINUSCA engaged in activities in Bangui and Mobei and that two of the country's most active armed groups, 3R and UPC, had returned to the peace agreement in recent months. The U.N. said this assistance is part of ongoing efforts to support the country's peace process.
