Seminole County amends truck-parking rule for residential areas, adds manufacturer GVWR standard

Seminole County commissioners unanimously adopted an amendment to the county code that changes how truck parking in residentially zoned districts is measured and enforced.
Maya Athanas, senior planner for the Planning and Development Division, told the board the amendment would bring Article 7 of Chapter 250 of the Seminole County Code into alignment with the Land Development Code, section 30.9.4. Athanas said the land development code update adopted Jan. 9, 2024, increased the gross vehicle weight for trucks parked in residential zones to 14,000 pounds and excluded personal pickup trucks and recreational vehicles from weight and classification limits.
