Hamilton County commissioners on Jan. 27 approved a financial-commitment letter for a Community Crossings pavement-preservation project on Colonial Road, from 96 to the bridge at Geist Reservoir. The county recorded a project construction cost estimate of $3,020,000 and a local funding commitment of $1,520,000.
County staff presented the project during highway business and told commissioners the Community Crossings grant application is due at the end of the month. Commission members approved the acceptance/commitment by voice vote.
The highway presenter said four underperforming county accounts were closed and funds redirected for 2025, and staff noted the county is monitoring interest-rate drops but expected yields to stay in the 4–4.69% range. No additional project financing sources or match breakdowns beyond the $1.52 million local commitment were specified in the meeting.
