She said the contractor started erosion and sediment control measures and safety fencing in late November, completed foundation work and underground utilities in the STEM addition, and refurbished the front vestibule earlier than scheduled so it would be available for summer registration activity. Structural steel was scheduled for March; cafeteria work will begin in summer 2025. Rochelle reminded the board that furniture, fixtures and equipment procurement should start soon so items arrive before school starts.
Rochelle also reported two proposed change orders tied to code‑review comments; the team is vetting cost reasonableness before bringing them to the board. She said the project includes a $275,550 contingency for owner requests and code changes and that two of four prime contractors had submitted schedules of values required for payments.
Board members praised the students’ work and noted the plans do not yet have construction funding or final approvals; they described the presentation as a useful reference if funding and approvals are obtained.
