McCormick Junior High eighth-grader Dasia Ard named LCSD1 Student of the Week

Dasia Ard, an eighth grader at McCormick Junior High, was recognized as the Laramie County School District #1 Student of the Week for Jan. 27, 2025.
Tianna Tradd, principal at McCormick Junior High School, introduced Dasia to the board and highlighted her academic and extracurricular record. "Dasia is an eighth grader at McCormick and our committee selected Dasia for numerous reasons. She is a leader in our building. She is kind. She is dedicated as an honors student. Her grades are impeccable," Tradd said.
Tradd noted Ard’s involvement in volleyball, indoor track and track, and student leadership activities including Warrior to Warrior and the student advisory council, where Dasia contributes feedback on school climate.
Dasia selected a teacher to speak on her behalf. The teacher, identified in the meeting as Prophase Stewart, told trustees that Dasia was "outgoing, hardworking, involved in bunches of extracurricular activities, and most importantly, she is kind." Ard delivered brief remarks thanking her teacher for support.
The board presented Dasia with a certificate and thanked her parents and friends in attendance.
