Board moves into closed session to discuss personnel evaluations and charter negotiations

The Sparta Area School District board voted unanimously to move into closed session to discuss administrative evaluations and to negotiate charter agreements.
On a motion by Mister Scholz, seconded by Mister Burns Gilbert, the board invoked Wisconsin Statute 19.85 (c) and (e) to consider employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation data of public employees and to discuss negotiation strategy related to Montessori and Innovation STEM Academy charter agreements. The roll call recorded yes votes from Mister Wells, Mister McKenna, Mister Scholz, Miss Behrens, Mister Burns Gilbert, Doctor Burnett and Miss Lopez.
Board chair announced the meeting would end recording before the closed session began and that any announcements following the closed session would be read aloud after the board returned to open session. The board did not take public action in open session on the items before moving into closed session.
