District staff say facility concepts narrowing; secure entrances planned for summer 2026

District facilities staff told the board that concept planning with architects and contractors is narrowing toward defined space needs and classroom counts for planned building work, and that some maintenance work may be accomplished this coming summer.
Sam Russ, the staff presenter on facilities, said the district continues to meet with Market & Johnson and Bray to refine concepts, classroom counts and square footage. He said the district is still on track to address a parking lot and bus drop-off/pickup configuration and is evaluating options for tuckpointing and roof repairs that might be completed over the summer.
Russ said the larger building work to add secure entrances at SHS and Meadowview is scheduled for the summer of 2026. He said the district will provide additional details to the board as concepts and cost estimates are refined and intends to hold a community meeting for public feedback when more information is available.
No vote was taken on facilities at the meeting; staff said they will report back at the next board meeting as the design process continues.
