District 6 begins migration from BoardDocs to Diligent Community; staff report mixed user experience

Amy Lisonbee led the tutorial and asked board members to activate accounts by finding an activation email from “DiligentOne Platform” or a notification address noted in the demo. “If you haven't activated your account, now is the time to go into your email and find an email from DiligentOne Platform,” Amy said. She showed members how to highlight text and create private annotations, noting, “these are only your personal notes. Nobody else sees these.”
Board members tested the site in the meeting and reported several user issues: some could not complete single sign‑on activation and saw password or loop errors; others found the policy area not yet live; several described slow page loading when accessing policies. Amy told the board that agendas will be migrated first and that policies should appear within about a month; BoardDocs will remain accessible during the transition. She said the district has been working with vendor support and that staff would help members who still could not activate their accounts before the next meeting.
The board discussed practical details raised during the tutorial: whether personal annotations persist after agenda updates (Amy said the system prompts users if they want to keep annotations on updated items), where to find past archives (old BoardDocs remains available during migration), and how to locate the district’s public site within the new platform. Staff said the next business meeting would be live in Diligent once migration is complete and asked members to complete activation ahead of the meeting.
No formal board action was taken during the tutorial; the session functioned as training and as a status update on the migration.
