Key points of the schedule
- Community input: TSBA-led community meetings and a public forum are scheduled Jan. 27 (multiple stakeholder sessions at noon, 1:30, 2:30, 3:30 and a 5 p.m. community forum). An online survey will also be available.
- Application window: The portal will open following the board’s adoption of search criteria. The application deadline was set for March 14, 2025.
- Candidate evaluation and interviews: The firm (TSBA) will recruit and assist with vetting. The board will screen and select finalists by March 31 and interview finalists April 21–24, 2025. The board expects to offer a contract by May 5 and announce an appointment by May 12, 2025, with a hoped-for start date of June 1, 2025.
Board discussion
Board members clarified that TSBA will provide candidate recommendations and vetting support, but the board will retain final decision authority and may consider candidates who arrive after the application deadline if the board requests it. Members also confirmed that the board will see full application files and not only a preselected list from the search firm.
The board approved the timeline by an 8–0 vote and scheduled a special meeting in February to review community input and adopt final candidate criteria.
