Representative Rick Scarborough presented a proclamation recognizing Clinton City Schools after the district learned every school in the system was named a state "reward school," the Tennessee Department of Education’s highest distinction.
Scarborough read a proclamation from Speaker Cameron Sexton and Lieutenant Governor McNally congratulating Clinton City Schools, its administration, faculty, staff, students and parents for the achievement. Board members and district staff gathered for a group photograph following the presentation.
In the director’s report, district staff announced the RFP process will open for an all‑inclusive playground at Clinton Elementary; staff said vendor documents have been received and the RFP will be advertised with an intent‑to‑propose period and a two‑week public advertisement window. The district also recognized 2025 teachers of the year: Patty Bates (Clinton Elementary, second grade), Bailey Reagan (North Clinton, first grade) and Caroline Wilson (South Clinton, guidance counselor). Monica Rael was named principal of the year.
The director reported $81,362.50 in TISA outcome funding received for the year and mentioned a tentative $35,000 growth allocation that staff expects may be rescinded at year end if enrollment data do not hold. The district reminded the public that Clinton City Schools will be closed the next day for winter weather and noted the district has 10 inclement‑weather days built into the calendar and 3 professional‑development days from a total stockpile of 13.
Board members thanked staff, guests and school staff members present for attending the meeting and participating in the recognition.
