Raymore parks and rec reports RAC opening activity, rink schedule and pickleball accommodations

Mr. Mustaine reported on a Saturday morning event at the RAC where staff and council participated in a ceremonial net cutting and observed heavy public use. He said the city provided merchandise to council members who attended and thanked the council for support of the facility. Mustaine told council that the planned final day for the RAC this season is Feb. 17 (President's Day), after which staff will begin closing the rink and transitioning facilities for outdoor sports.
Council members noted the new court nets that raise and lower to accommodate pickleball and standard court play. Council member Serco said he had met the parks director in Peculiar and discussed possible intercity pickleball tournaments.
