Rossford council adopts ordinance to extend city email and data agreement with Cumulus

Rossford City Council on Jan. 27 adopted Ordinance 2025-05, amending supplemental number 2 for the 2025 fiscal year to account for a proposed three-year extension of the city's Google Business Suite contract handled by Cumulus.
Allison, the city administrator, told council that the city signs an annual contract with Cumulus for email, data backup and online storage and that the vendor proposed a three-year agreement to lock pricing and potentially save money. "Each year, the costs go up, but the rep recently reached out to us to perhaps lock in a 3 year agreement so our pricing will be stable over that period of time, save us, save us a little bit of money," Allison said. The proposed change expands the appropriation to cover the additional years in the 2025 budget.
Council moved to suspend the second and third readings, solicited comments from the audience and then voted to adopt the ordinance the same evening. The roll-call adoption recorded ayes from Owen, Reynolds, Toth, Oberdorf, Echol and Tinney; the motion carried and the ordinance was adopted.
No members of the public objected when council asked for comments before suspension of readings. The ordinance was described in the meeting as an administrative budget amendment to book contract costs through the 2025 appropriation.
