Taos officials cite $40,000 for signage and plan camera enforcement as residents press for traffic calming

Mayor Maestas and staff said the town is implementing automated speed‑enforcement cameras (Flock units) that will issue citations when triggered; the town said locations will not be preannounced. Councilors and staff also cited $40,000 identified for signage; staff said residents can submit requests using the town web tool ("see something, say something") to request signage or other work orders.
Council members suggested partnerships with Main Street and other community groups to run educational campaigns promoting slower driving. No new ordinances were adopted at the workshop; councilors said signage installations and camera enforcement are implementation steps the town is advancing.
