Commissioners approve routine master-service renewals, grant applications and other administrative items

At its Jan. 27 meeting, the Board of Johnson County Commissioners approved several routine administrative items and grant applications.
Approved items read from the agenda included ratification of an AT&T program letter; annual master services and maintenance renewals (including agreements with SRI Inc., Midwest Presort for assessor mailings, Imaging Office Systems for hardware maintenance, and a maintenance agreement with Nolan Wick for the clerk's office). The board also approved applications to seek grant funding: a capacity-building grant for CASA and an Indiana Department of Health PHEP (Public Health Emergency Preparedness) 2025'26 grant for the health department.
Parks department applications to host Festival Country-related events in 2025 were approved for specific dates: Vintage Camper Rally on May 3, Wreckfest on July 26, Touch-a-Truck on Sept. 20 and Joco Deck the Stalls on Dec. 6, 2025.
The board approved personnel recognitions and routine agreements and then approved claims and credit-card reconciliations after a motion and second. The board did not approve minutes because they were not ready for consideration.
Why it matters: these routine approvals maintain county operations and allow agencies to apply for outside funding; the PHEP and CASA grant applications, if awarded, would support public-health preparedness and court-appointed special advocates capacity building.
Next steps: approvals allow staff to pursue grant awards and continue existing service contracts; award decisions for grants will return to the board if required by policy.
