Mills County commissioners approve minutes and accounts payable, question service billing

The Mills County Commissioners Court unanimously approved minutes from its Jan. 2, Jan. 9 and Jan. 13 sessions and approved the county's accounts payable at its meeting on Monday, Jan. 27.
County officials told the court there were two notational corrections on the payables document: a Mills County vehicle registration charge should be recorded as precinct 1 expense for $7.50, and a Texas Association of Counties charge listed under “county judge expense” should instead be recorded as the county treasurer’s continuing education for $200. County staff asked commissioners to note those changes before the vote.
Commissioners discussed several outstanding vendor issues during the bills review. A staff member told the court the last invoice from Moore Service Center — $512.70 for a computer screen repair — has not resolved the problem. “It was to fix the computer screen, and it's not fixed,” the staff member said. Commissioners did not instruct staff to pay that invoice immediately; they approved the accounts payable package as presented.
Commissioners also discussed ongoing equipment repairs, including work on a Mack truck that staff said remains “still tracking down” parts and service. No additional appropriations were made during the meeting.
Votes at the Jan. 27 meeting were unanimous on both the minutes and accounts-payable motions. The court did not set a follow-up date for the Moore Service Center dispute during the session.
