Good evening. My name is Bridal, and I'm from Walnut Creek, said a resident during the citizens' comments period.
The commenter said a planning meeting for the Crestwinds project was canceled because of the weather and urged council to consider expected traffic impacts once the developer’s plans return to the agenda. “I just want to remind everybody, keep it in mind that fairly soon, if that's approved by their figures, there'll be at least 24100 more cars on 5/21, and and that that was their figures,” the speaker said, adding that the increase would produce stop‑and‑go traffic conditions Lancaster does not usually experience.
The speaker said the plan was not yet on the council agenda and asked the council to “protect us from it” when it is considered. Council did not discuss the item further in the meeting; staff and council members later noted the development would come back to the appropriate planning process and that residents’ concerns would be part of that review.
