Service Director Krawcheck presented a request to replace a 2004 4-ton asphalt hot box trailer at a price of $46,000, a 2009 Hustler mower with a bagger for $18,500, and a hydraulic jackhammer attachment for a mini excavator priced at $10,300, totaling $74,800 for the service department equipment request. For building and grounds repairs, the committee reviewed structural and accessibility work at the police lobby estimated at $47,000 with $21,500 available from NOPEC funds, resulting in a net city cost of $25,500. The committee reported the total service-department-related request at $100,300.
Committee members asked about primary uses and capacity for the new equipment and confirmed the hot box size would meet department needs. The cemetery handicap-access phase completed in 2024 was noted and the committee said it would wait for CDBG funding cycles before pursuing further cemetery improvements.
The items were reported out of committee and will be considered by the finance committee as part of the proposed 2025 budget process.
