HUGHSON, Calif. — The Hughson City Manager told the City Council at the Jan. 27 meeting that the San Jose Animal Shelter (the city’s animal services contractor) is completing interviews for an executive director and that the city expects to interview candidates and announce a selection after the second week of February.
The city manager also provided a brief status update on other items and confirmed that staff and outside contractors have been in contact with applicants related to planning matters scheduled for the planning commission (see related article). The city attorney announced harassment training for council and staff to be led by attorneys Lisa and Bennett; the training is scheduled for a two-hour session on an upcoming Wednesday.
During council comments, Council member McDade and others reported attendance at regional meetings and outreach events. The council also announced the city’s State of the City event will take place on March 26 at Samaritan Village. Mayor Karch said he will not attend the next council meeting because of a medical procedure.
The transcript did not include a schedule for the harassment training beyond "Wednesday," nor did it include the animal services contractor’s full hiring timeline beyond the second week of February for interviews. For full schedules and formal announcements, consult future city communications and posted agendas.
