The Paris City Council voted unanimously Jan. 27 to rezone property at 1702 East Price Street from Commercial C to Single‑Family SF‑2.
City staff introduced the application from A and J Dreamweaver Enterprises, LLC, saying the parcel had been used commercially since the early 2000s and the applicant seeks to revert it to residential use. The council opened and promptly closed the required public hearing; no members of the public spoke on the item. ‘‘What is before you today is to change it from commercial to a single‑family dwelling SF‑2 district,’’ City staff (Mr. Amolmenza) told the council.
The rezoning received a motion to approve, a second and a 7‑0 vote in favor. Council members gave no substantive deliberation on the record before the vote.
The approval updates the city zoning designation for block 220, lot ptlt14 (CAD 129‑84) at the address listed as 1702 East Price Street. Staff said the Paris Planning & Zoning Commission had considered the application Jan. 6 and voted unanimously to recommend approval consistent with the staff recommendation.
No conditions, amendments or next steps were recorded on the council floor. The ordinance and map change will be reflected in the city zoning records per standard administrative procedures.
Details recorded in the meeting: the public hearing was opened and closed with no public testimony; the motion to approve passed 7‑0.
