Diane Conrad, director of community relations, gave the board an overview of the office’s scope and metrics, saying the team coordinates "both internal and external communication, public relations services that foster strong partnerships between the district, each department, our schools, [and] all stakeholders."
Conrad described the district website (redesigned in mid‑December 2024), a free district app with about 13,300 downloads, Thrillshare mass messages (more than 11,000 sent in the last year), Klearn TV (cable channel 20 / Midco 595) and a district YouTube channel with nearly 2,000 videos and 10,900 subscribers receiving about 3.5 million views. The office recently created an archived YouTube channel to preserve older district videos and continues to produce podcasts and event recordings.
On community education, Conrad said the district offered 625 classes in calendar 2024 with 5,283 registrations and produces two printed catalogs each year. The office also processes facility permits for community groups; the presentation said 241 permits were processed in 2024 with a cumulative evening use estimate of 7,227 hours (6:30 p.m.–10 p.m. equivalent usage across events), much of it provided to nonprofits at little or no fee when custodial staffing was required.
Board members praised the work and acknowledged the overview by voice vote; the transcript records no roll‑call tally. The presentation invited community members interested in teaching community education classes to contact the office and noted translation and accessibility functions for high‑volume languages on district platforms.
