New animal control director introduced; department requests temporary and permanent hires

Commissioners introduced Christina Bullock as the county's new animal control director. Bullock outlined hiring requests to fill three full-time animal-control technician positions and asked to advertise for those roles at the pay rates shown in the packet.
Bullock asked the commission to approve hiring Victoria Culp (animal control tech II) and Brianna Santos and Brianna Coolis (animal control tech I positions). Commissioners asked for questions; none were raised and staff said the hires would follow normal hiring procedures.
Commissioner Childress and others praised work at the shelter and reported improvements to cleaning, IT connectivity and building maintenance. Childress said volunteers and inmates have helped clean the facility and that temporary part-time help will be requested. The commission indicated the temporary part-time position would be limited (28 hours or less per week) at a tech II pay level and that available budget funds would cover the temporary hire.
No formal vote was recorded; the department said it would request a resolution authorizing the emergency temporary hire at the next meeting.
