Senate passes consent-list bills including oil and gas bonding, water and sewer bid rules, charter school funding and depository amendments

The Wyoming Senate passed a consent-list package that included four bills after they were read three times on the floor.

The consent list, moved by the majority floor leader, contained: Senate File 20 (oil and gas bonding options and bonding pools); Senate File 46 (water and sewer district bid requirements); Senate File 73 (charter school funding amendments); and Senate File 95 (Special Purpose Depository Institution Amendments). The chief clerk called the roll for the consent list and the bills listed were recorded as passed.

Recorded final tallies given on the floor were as follows: Senate File 20 — 30 yeas, 1 nay; Senate File 46 — recorded as passed during the consent procedure (individual votes noted on the record); Senate File 73 — 28 yeas, 3 nays; and Senate File 95 — 28 yeas, 3 nays. The chief clerk announced that the bills had passed the Senate and that the measures would move to the next steps in the legislative process.

Why it matters: The passed measures cover a range of state policy areas including oil and gas financial assurance, procurement rules for water and sewer districts, charter school funding formulas, and regulatory changes for special-purpose depository institutions.
