Mill Creek Education Foundation reports more than $9,000 in grants, lists programs and scholarship supports

Chris Huber, executive director of the Mill Creek Education Foundation, reported to the Mill Creek Township School District board on Jan. 27 that the MEF Board of Trustees approved several grants totaling more than $9,000.
Huber listed funded items that include adaptive swings and a snuggle swing at Bell Valley, wellness-room decor at MIHS, hydroponic sets at Walnut Creek, breakout EDU kits for Belle Valley, classroom books to support autism understanding across elementary schools, materials for a district art show, and reimbursement for professional development for district staff. Huber said the grants also supported classroom resources tied to author visits and trauma-informed book studies.
He also described a matching gift challenge that raised winter clothing for students, ongoing support for school 'caring closets' through the John Patrick Keck Fund, and corporate EITC donations from First National Bank of Pennsylvania, Natural Technologies, Law Building Company LLC, and Commonwealth Charitable Management. Huber said MEF scholarships and other funds are available to help students pay costs for camps, sports and extracurriculars and that scholarship applications are open through March 17. He said the MEF annual report was posted Dec. 31 on the foundation website.
